On April 8, 2026, a delegation from the School of Media and Communication (SMC) at Shenzhen University visited Shenzhen Itable New Media Marketing Co., Ltd. to explore innovative models of university-enterprise collaboration. The delegation was led by Yuexing Wang, Deputy Party Secretary and Discipline Inspection Commission Secretary and included Acting Associate Dean Guang Yang, Deputy Party Secretary Yiming Chen, Director of the Department of Internet and New Media Bolin Cao, and Associate Director of the Department of Journalism Tongchen Wang from SMC. The visit formed part of the SMC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen industry engagement and broaden students’ career pathways through closer collaboration with enterprises.
Boyang Gong, founder of Itable, welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of the company’s evolution from a digital marketing agency to a diversified enterprise encompassing creative marketing, livestream e-commerce, intelligent hardware innovation, and global sales. He noted that the company’s growth trajectory closely aligns with SMC’s academic strengths, including journalism, advertising, and new media studies. The Itable team also introduced its proprietary marketing frameworks and presented case studies involving leading industry partners such as Huawei, Haier, and Tencent, demonstrating how data-driven strategies are reshaping contemporary digital communication.
During the roundtable discussion, Deputy Party Secretary Yuexing Wang commended Itable’s rapid transformation and sustained growth, noting that its industry experience provides valuable insights for talent cultivation. Acting Associate Dean Guang Yang emphasized that, as SMC accelerates the integration of artificial intelligence into its curriculum, this visit offers a timely opportunity to explore collaboration on internships, employment pathways, and joint research initiatives.
Faculty members engaged in in-depth discussions on curriculum innovation and the evolving competencies required of media professionals in the AI era. They highlighted the importance of recalibrating traditional journalism and advertising education in response to rapid industry changes, noting that Itable’s experience provides valuable practical insights for academic reform.
The visit concluded with discussions on expanding internship and employment opportunities. By further strengthening partnerships with industry leaders, SMC aims to enhance its practice-oriented training model and better prepare students for the evolving media landscape.
